Dear HI IQ Learning Ohana,
Thank you so much for supporting HI IQ Learning’s STEAM Camps over the past five years. It has been an absolute joy and privilege to develop curriculum that sparks curiosity and excitement for STEM. Watching your children build, explore, and grow has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
While running these camps has been incredibly fulfilling, I’ll be honest — I’m exhausted. Behind the scenes each year, I poured my heart into developing new projects and ideas entirely from scratch, all while working full-time as an engineer. With the incredible support of our managers and instructors, those ideas came to life. After spending more than 20 years in the tech industry, this pivot into education and inspiring STEM was a refreshing chapter in my professional life. I’m proud of what we’ve built and deeply grateful for the community that believed in us.
Though our STEAM camps continue to thrive, we’ve made the difficult decision to shift our organizational focus toward our school contract programs and discontinue our commercial STEAM camps. This decision was not made lightly, but it allows us to sustainably serve students year-round through our school partnerships. As part of this transition, I’ll also be handing the curriculum development torch to the next generation, who will carry forward my mission with fresh creativity and passion.
To every family who registered your child, whether for one summer or every summer, thank you for trusting a small, relatively unknown business with your children. You believed in our mission: that STEM shouldn’t be intimidating, and that every child deserves the chance to see themselves as a future innovator, entrepreneur, or engineer. I hope your children walked away feeling empowered and inspired, which was always my greatest goal.
I’m so proud of the legacy we leave behind. A generation of curious, capable, and inspired kids who spent their summers building robots, coding games, launching businesses, and creating something out of nothing. Please continue to inspire your children to be the ones who take ideas from zero to one. The spark that starts something new and changes the world.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for the memories, the support, and the opportunity to be part of your child’s learning journey. I move on with peace, pride, and deep gratitude.
Thank you,
Judy Yagi
